Pre-Loved, Proven Performance: Trim and Tidy Invests in Etesia

For growing landscaping businesses, investing in the right machinery is essential, especially when balancing performance, reliability and cost. For Lewis Jordan, owner of Trim and Tidy Landscapes, the decision to purchase a pre-loved Etesia Attila AH75 has proven to be a smart move.
Based in Wiltshire and covering areas across the South West, Trim and Tidy Landscapes is a relatively young business, now entering its third year. However, Lewis brings over a decade of industry experience to the table.
“I’ve been in the industry for about 12 years and went out on my own a couple of years ago,” he explains. “We do less domestic work and more commercial-sized jobs, housing estates and sites like that.”
Like many contractors, Lewis is navigating the ongoing challenges facing the industry, from rising fuel costs to increasing demand for efficiency. This makes machinery choices more important than ever.
“We’re facing all the challenges that everybody else is at the moment, especially with the rise in fuel costs,” he says. “So, it’s incredibly important to have the right machinery in place, particularly going into a busy season.”
The need for a brushcutter like the Attila AH75 came from the changing nature of commercial landscaping, particularly on new housing developments.
“You’re seeing more developers putting in wildflower areas and ecological spaces,” Lewis explains. “So, it’s a good machine to go in and cut down all the scrub, the rough areas, and manage those spaces properly.”
The Attila AH75 is designed for exactly this kind of work. Built with rugged reliability, it features a 75cm cutting width and is powered by a Honda GXV 390 engine, delivering the strength needed to tackle dense vegetation such as brambles, long grass and bracken. Its hydrostatic transmission and differential lock ensure excellent control, even on slopes up to 20°, while its compact design allows for easy transport between sites.
For Lewis, that compactness was a major selling point. “It was mainly the compactness of the machine,” he says. “I’ve got a couple of ride-on models, but this fits into smaller spaces. It’s that in-between machine where one ride-on isn’t quite enough, but two would be overkill.”
Lewis first came across Etesia’s pre-loved offering through social media. “I saw it on Facebook one night because I follow Etesia and it came up. I’m always keeping an eye out, so I had a quick look and dropped a message to find out more,” he says.
The Etesia pre-loved range which includes ex-demo machines, offers contractors the chance to invest in high-quality equipment at a more accessible price point, a factor that played a key role in Lewis’s decision.
“Everyone wants new machines, but it’s not always possible, especially with everything going on at the moment,” he explains. “With the pre-loved option, you’re buying from a brand you trust, but still getting that quality, so it works really well. New, they can be almost double the price I paid.”
Lewis is no stranger to Etesia equipment, already running a Pro 51 pedestrian mower and a Bahia cut and collect mower within his fleet. His previous experience with the brand gave him confidence in choosing a pre-loved machine.
“Over the years I’ve used several Etesia machines and they’ve always been good quality,” he says. “You get what you pay for, and Etesia sits at the top end of the market in my opinion, they’ve proven that quality over the years.”
Reliability and ease of use are key factors, not just for Lewis but for his team as well.
“My staff all seem to like them too and they’re simple to use, which is important,” he adds. “They’ll cut in all weather. Even if it’s wet on the ground, the cut and collect machines pick up really well, which is exactly what you want.”
As Trim and Tidy Landscapes continues to grow, Lewis is clear that Etesia will remain part of the journey.
“I can see us continuing to invest in Etesia equipment for many years to come,” he says.
For contractors looking to balance cost and performance without compromising on quality, Lewis’s experience highlights the value of considering pre-loved machinery, especially when it comes from a trusted name like Etesia.
