For professional landscapers and grounds teams, the question is no longer whether battery power can do the job, but which system does it best. The battery at the heart of it
Pellenc’s ULiB (Ultra Lithium Battery) backpack range is built around a strong power-to-weight ratio, so operators can work intensively without the fatigue of a heavy pack. At the top of the range, the ULiB 1200 and 1500 can deliver between one and three working days between charges, depending on the tool. Both have earned the independent LONGTIME label for durability. The ULiB 750 sits in the middle of the range, suiting everyday use where weight matters as much as capacity.
Where a backpack isn’t needed, integrated batteries put the power on board. The ALPHA range is balanced to the tool’s ergonomics, while the newer Essential Line pairs its tools with the ULiB 200E and 400E. With the 200E, the Helion Essential hedge trimmer offers up to three hours of runtime, and it also accepts the backpack batteries when longer shifts demand it.
A tool for every task
The range now covers most of a grounds team’s daily work, and every tool shares the same battery ecosystem.
The Helion hedge trimmers combine a balanced design with swivel handles for awkward angles and vertical work. The Excelion brushcutters use brushless motors and, in Essential form, offer a cutting diameter of up to 460 mm with the Tap Cut 3 head, in either cow-horn or loop-handle configurations. The Airion blowers are water-resistant to IP54 and take a choice of nozzles.
Beyond these core tools, the Rasion pedestrian mowers handle turf, and the self-driven Cleanion sweeper clears debris from natural and artificial surfaces, with attachments including a snow plough. Selion chainsaws and pole saws, Prunion and Vinion pruning shears, and the Cultivion soil cultivator complete the line-up.
Why it matters on site
The practical benefits are consistent across the range. Battery tools are quiet, odourless and low in vibration, making them well suited to noise-sensitive locations such as schools, hospitals, residential estates and early-morning work. There is no fuel to store, mix or transport, and no starting problems. Pellenc’s patented brushless motors also help deliver power comparable to petrol equipment without emissions at the point of use.
Digital displays on key tools show remaining battery charge and let operators select speed settings. That helps them manage a shift’s energy use rather than guess at it.
Backed for the long term
