This Autumn Etesia is getting set for a busy 2014 lawn and garden season, entering the domestic market with the launch of two competitively priced electric lawn mowers – the VECS and NECTS Duocut, with a promise of models to follow shortly.

For years, Etesia have been renowned in the commercial market for manufacturing machines able to cut and collect in all weather conditions – come rain or shine. With the launch of these two new products, domestic customers will be able to take advantage of a lawn mower which will deliver best-in-class cutting, collecting or mulching – even in the most demanding conditions.

The VECS is an entry level 1300W push model with eight cutting height settings, which are quickly adjustable using one lever from 20-60mm, complete with a polypropylene 37cm cutting deck and 39 litre grass box.

The NECTS model has a 41cm cutting width and is a 1500W single speed (3km) machine with seven cutting height settings from 25-85mm. It comes complete with a Xenoy cutting deck for added robustness.

Extremely versatile, both new models are capable of mowing with or without collection in all conditions, or for high-quality mulching. And they do all that without the need for an accessory.

That high performance is possible thanks to the Duocut concept which is the perfect combination between 100% collection and 100% mulching decks, without compromising the results of either of the functions. Changing the mowing system is easy: just place the removable insert under the deck if you want to mulch. Remove the insert if you prefer to mow with or without collection.

There is no need for a tool or blade change. The insert completes the shape of the deck to form a smooth surface with no roughness, allowing the grass to move easily for incomparably superior mulching.

Excellent mulching results with a very high collection performance, even if the grass is long and wet is compacted in the grass collection boxes, complete with box filling indicator.

Both models come, as standard, with ‘soft grip’ handle bars which can fold for easy transportation.

Once again, Pellenc is proving that it is technologically ahead of the field with the launch of its Excelion 2000 ‘cow-horn’ handle professional brushcutter, sold exclusively in the UK by Etesia.

The new Excelion 2000 is also part of an introductory launch offer which sees customers offered a ULB80P battery, Excelion 2000 brushcutter and rollcut head at just £1500 +VAT – a saving of over £500.

Strimming long grass, weeds and undergrowth on steep or difficult terrain demands particularly well thought-out tools. They need to be rugged, powerful, easy to handle and ergonomic in use – just the characteristics of the new Pellenc 2000 hand-held brushcutter, making it the ideal maintenance tool for professional landscapers and contractors.

With a new heavy-duty harness and weighing just 5.1kgs, the Excelion 2000 can be purchased with a choice of four cutting heads: the ‘roll-cut’ head will accommodate 7 metres of 3mm twisted wire or up to 9 metres of 2.7mm, the ‘tap-cut’ head is capable of using the same wires, a new ‘multi-head’ is available for quick changes between wire and blade. A new heavy duty ‘blade-cut’ will shortly be available.

The Excelion 2000 prevents almost 98% of the direct emissions of a petrol engine. Users who decide to recharge Pellenc batteries with the Solerion solar charger see the CO2 emissions totally eliminated, and in addition an important factor for the commercial operator, vibration levels of 2.3ms².

As with all other Pellenc products, the Excelion 2000 uses the ultra-high capacity technology of the Pellenc lithium battery and guarantees non-polluting, odourless operation with quick start-up and up to 4.5 hrs of continuous operation.

This order is the largest single order of Pellenc equipment from one customer at one time and will be used exclusively by the Canal and River Trust for maintenance work in Newark Nottinghamshire.

After a period of testing and evaluation, the national supplier of tools, equipment and related services took delivery of over 50 pieces of kit from Pellenc dealer RT Machinery, which have been put straight to work by the trust, who care for 2,000 miles of historic waterways across the country.

The hire company was looking for environmentally-friendly equipment to add to their fleet. A team of people visited the Etesia UK head office, initially to look at some pedestrian mowers and became intrigued with a new range of battery-powered hand tools.

“We had heard about battery-powered equipment before, but never looked at it as there had always been an issue with how long you could perform with the tool and the initial purchase price,” explained Andrew Kirk, Ground Care Asset Manager.

“We had a demo of the equipment whilst we were at Etesia and were very impressed with how lightweight the equipment was, the life of the battery and how well it performed on the day. They are extremely environmentally-friendly products with low noise and the batteries pay for themselves over a period of time as you don’t have to purchase fuel. With the price of fuel rocketing over the last 12-18 months, there is now an even quicker payback time.”
The company held one of their demo days where they invite customers along to try out new equipment in their own environment. The Pellenc products were a success and the first large order was placed.

“We wanted to bring it to the contractor’s attention because as a company, we feel it’s the way forward. We had the Canal and River Trust in mind specifically because of the areas they maintain which have a lot of wildlife. The Pellenc products are environmentally-friendly and very low noise. There is no mixing of two-stroke fuel, so it was an easy decision to make.”

RHS Wisley has purchased a range of environmentally-friendly battery-powered Pellenc equipment to keep tree & hedge cover along with grass clippings & debris in check, quietly and without fumes.

Wisley – the flagship garden of the Royal Horticultural Society (RHS), one of the world’s leading horticultural organisations and now operates a fleet of Pellenc Helion hedgecutters and Airion blowers to help maintain its 360 acre estate. Peter Anderson, machinery maintenance engineer at Wisley also added the Pellenc Solerion solar panel charging station to ensure that all batteries are always ready to be used when required.

Over the past two years, Peter has purchased a number of hedgecutters, blowers and batteries from his local Pellenc dealer Surrey Power. Peter says the usability and functionality of the Pellenc products along with low noise and vibration levels, together with equipment reliability and ease of servicing are some of the key reasons why he has chosen Pellenc.
